Chapter 7

New world inside the old

When Renna woke up next morning, she felt different. Still sore from the rough catch and even more from the night she stood in front of the mirror. No change was apparent. Nothing visible but still. She was a woman now but that was not it. She looked lovingly at her husband, and felt proud and happy. She put on her dream dress again and went out into the mid morning sun.

It somehow felt right to do so. The world seemed different and yet it looked the same. She felt wings and fire in her inside. She investigated the feeling, focused on it and then came the change. The world altered. All was different now. Renna was a night blue dragon with some sparking scales. She was shocked by the change and scrambled back towards her own shape. Soon she had hands again instead of wings and she ran back in to tell Drake. She found him sitting on the edge of her bed and shaking and understood what he must have thought when he woke up without her by his side. She ran to her, kneeled in front of him and put her arms around him.

“I’m here dearest! See, I’m still me… I’m sorry I left you alone!”

He hugged her and smiled with sudden joy.

“Where were you?”

“I was outside. I have to show you something. Come!”

Renna almost dragged Drake outside. When she stood on the edge again a worried expression came to Drakes face but Renna laughed and told him not to worry. Then she changed and flew up. Her dragon voice thundered,

“You gave to me as much as I gave to you! Come fly with me.”

And so one white and one black dragon flew happily above a new world for both of them. That day no plans were made but soon it was time to make decisions and plans.

Of those I will tell to but not in this story. Lets let them be happy for a while.

The End
