I pretty much live in/near Tallinn these days, so I see a lot of stuff that you previously could only see on TV. One of those is the brand new Victory Column that Ive had the chance to eye from the window of a buss on several occasions. No offense, but people who approved this glass monster need a slap on the back of the head and a dunce hat. Its outright ugly. Really. Its about the ugliest monument I’ve ever seen. Materials wise mostly. The glass sucks. It’s transparent for fucks sake, makes the whole thing just fade into the background and the embedded lights at night make it tacky. Its a memorial for a war that happened about 90 years ago. A statue that yells “–MODERN ART, SEE IT HERE!” just does not fit.

But sitting in that same bus I heard something else. A man with a little girl was sitting next to me. The girl was perhaps 5 or so. She looked at it. She remembered what it was called, sort of, and asked daddy about it humorously saying it wrong (she called it “sammal” meaning moss, instead of using the word “sammas” for column or monument). It was interesting to listen the dad, not much older than I am, explaining to the kid about Estonia’s War of Independence and that the monument was for people who died in it. Listening to that conversation nearly redeemed the monster in my eyes(not the designers and not the approving committee, mind you). Its important to have something that kids can ask about. That is the way a nations memory of its past is preserved, through kids asking and parents telling, and not just schoolbooks.

There’s something interesting happening on the wire. Its the “Project Chanology” and the communal slash back at the Church of Scientology for trying to suppress information by use of law. When somebody seen as morally unfit to use the law uses the letter of the law against the intent, there will be a lash back. The strength of this tide is amazing.
Scientology is pretty much unknown in this corner of the world and those who know of it regard it as a suspicious cult. I personally had heard the word only a few times before the start of this campaign. Then I got interested. The look into a world of Corporate Religion left a bad taste in my mouth. I did not like what I was seeing. And that was before learning of the “fair game” policies, disconnection, organizations criminal roots and idealistic unattainable dreams.

Call me SP if you want but some things are not worth having…

A world without crime? Such a world is impossible without paying the ultimate price, ones humanity. Crime is a violation of society’s rules. Rules that are defined by men. As long as we are human there will be a deviation in what men consider normal, and there will always be those that are left outside that normality. A world without crime is a world of machines all identical, all programmed the same way. Would you want to live in such a world?

A world without insanity? Insanity it is a breakdown of the mental faculty of man, be the cause a “bad media” or “bad data”. Why should it be treated any different than a disease of the body? Why should it be more permanently curable than a flu? The only way to permanently remove insanity is to give up human body and all human experiences. And that is pretty insane in it self…
That said, if Scientology works for you, it is your right to practice it. Practice it with full awareness of what it is and do it without fear of harassment outside the “Church”.

When I was a child I loved to play with my fathers electrical tester. It would register all sorts of funny numbers and fluctuations when a person was between probes. The numbers varied dependent on a million little things, how tight you were holding the probes, how sweaty your hands were etc. Now when I found out about the E-meter all those games were instantly reminded. I thought about the procedure and the function of E-meter and intent of the system became clear.
E-meter is a primitive stress detector, used as a training tool under same principles that let you let you beat the lie detector. You must believe what you say or your body will give you away. You squeeze the cans harder, you sweat at the right question and the resistance changes. They will know you have been bothered by this question.
E-meter makes it apparent when one lies to one self or others. We all have those insecurities, those moments, those little things we are bothered about. All those gypsies at public places trying to sell you fortune-telling when you are down pray on the same state of mind, but they have intuition to see who would be susceptible. As pack animals we seek acceptance and relief of those through sharing with others. If we share with the wrong people however the price can be rather high.
Auditing is designed to give you that relief of fears through identifying and replacing your doubts. By repairing gaps in your ego. I imagine it to be a very effective way of gaining confidence and introspection… I for example have used Tarot cards to obtain the same introspection, to have a dialog with myself… But they abuse the process to fill you with their beliefs.

They make you believe things they want you to believe by repeating them until your mind accepts them as truth and they no longer cause you stress that registers on the E-meter. Simple brainwashing operation, nothing more. If you are going to try it, know what you are facing.
These things are obvious to anybody with decent analyzing skills. But not everybody have those skills and cults like Co$ prey on them to get funding and slave labor. See, even I find what they do wrong. It shouldn’t be a surprise ho much support this project has got over the days.

So it is easy to see why this “Church” is getting lashed at so strongly. They are to the world of the mind what pedophiles are to the physical world. Abusers and deceivers of those without the intellectual capacity to choose for themselves. Everybody with adequate mental capacity hates them.

Intellectuals hate them because they are kooks and abuse the “scientific” approach. Other religions hate them because they blaspheme their god, ex-members hate them because of the acute awareness of everything that is going on inside and even common people find what they do amoral. Add to the mix a generation raised on the global information exchange that is the internet to whom the gag is the ultimate threat and you will get an explosion.
The group that started this had a unique name. The Anonymous. The Anonymous say “We are Legion” and in a cause that attracts so many they truly are. This name expands endlessly to cover anybody that due to fear of prosecution over something so simple as a protest choose to stay anonymous. Its an interesting development. Suddenly masses of people are moving on one direction, working for one goal. The movement has no leader, just a master plan. The instruction was to do what you can to bring down the Co$ and do it so that for them and anybody you do not know enough to trust you remain Anonymous. It has gone way beyond its roots in a hacking community. It is now a force thriving on public opinion on selling gibberish and it is transforming constantly. Its source, the Project Chanlogy wiki pages history is the best evidence. The transformation from “lulz” to “srsbsns” is evident. And it is incorruptible from inside.

If one acts outside the interests of the group one immediately becomes an outsider, a “spai”(meaning spy) and a not part of the cause. If one tries to claim fame by by using ones real name, one automatically is not Anonymous. Since it has no leader and it is united only for the cause it is a force cannot be used to attack anything else.
I doubt this will be last net-movement under the name of Anonymous tho it may take time until something as public and as hated comes into limelight to again unify as many people into a single minded entity. After all, the force that drives this tide is not some hacker group but an almost total condemnation of the the “Church” of Scientology-s practices, its status as a legally sanctified corporate religion in some countries and  its operations that make it a cult.

My take on the matter is simple. Somebody said that you cannot kill hydra that does not have a head to chop off… That is certainly the case here. Co$ can sue its ass off, no relief will come of it, for each sued 10 will join. It will push the movement into action.
