Long time no see…
Wednesday, August 15th, 2007I haven’t posted here for a while. Somehow have not felt like it. But now, I think its time for a recap. Hmm, lets see what Ive been up to.
Art&Photo
Sometime in march I got myself an airbrush. Ive made altogether five canvas paintings so far, you can see pictures of them at my DeviantART page. Airbrush makes sense for me somehow. I can almost make it draw what I imagine. Ive actually SOLD one painting to a coworker of mine. Incredible ![]()
In photo, well, I sold my E-500 and the accessories. The lens prices were depressing me without end and lack of manual focus confirmation broke the camels back. Hello K10D! I had drooled over this camera for a LONG time, ever since it became available and now I owned it. I had to sell my soul to the bank for two whole years to get it, but by god got it
And with my own choice of lenses too. I did not buy the kit lens, because I figured I would not need it. I had my Sigma 28-70 f2.8, truly a SWEET lens, and a Sigma 70-300 no APO version for my tele needs. Well, i figured wrong, soon I was itching for a wider angle for my architecture photos. So I bought the kit from after market. Next in order was a manulal focus vivitar macro lens. Another sweet addition to my set. The spider pictures in my photo gallery are taken with that one.
Widelands
I’ve joined opensource game project called Widelands. This settlers like game just happened to need a Elder of Graphics and I volunteered. It has a few disturbing bugs in it at the moment, but slowly its getting better and better. At the moment, easiest way to come chime in is at Widelands mailing list or on the Widelands web page …
Wikipedia
I became active on Wikipedia during the end of April events here in Estonia. Our big neighbor has lost its marbles apparently, just one look at its state controlled medias shit slinging campaign is needed to be sure. The same happens on Wikipedia and the cleanup duty is onerous, because shit tends to cling on the cleaner and not the thrower. There has also been a small local uproar over an incident involving Rein Lang, his political advisor and exceptionally rude newbie. As a result I ended up giving a radio interview explaining the Wikipedia and its basic governing rules in technopolitical radio show Tehnokratt. If you have iron nerves and desire to help out, come along, contribute
